Social Media Policy of the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group

The Nippon Manufacturing Service Corporation Group (hereinafter “the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group”*1 )has established the following Social Media Policy in relation to the operation of various official social media accounts and the use of social media by all the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group’s officers and employees (hereinafter “Employees etc.” *2 ) .

  • ※2 This refers to those who have an employment relationship with the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group .It includes contract employees and part-time employees.

1.Purpose of Establishing This Policy

The purpose of this policy is to establish an operational policy to build good communication between the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group and users on the official accounts and to ensure Employees etc. use social media with awareness that they are members of society.

2.Definitions

  • In this policy, “social media” refers to media which can be viewed by a large number of users through the posting of information on the Internet. This social media includes social networking services (SNS), bulletin board sites, blogs and video sharing sites.
  • In this policy, the “official accounts” refer to the various official social media accounts operated by the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group as part of business.

3.Basic Approaches to the Operation and Use of Social Media

Employees etc. (hereinafter “we” and “our” in this section) act in accordance with the basic approaches set forth below when operating the official accounts and using social media.

  1. Understanding the Characteristics of Social Media
    We post information upon understanding that information posted on social media is widely available to a large number of people and that it is difficult to completely remove the facts and contents we have posted even if we delete them later.
  2. Responsibilities as Members of Society
    We post information with a sincere and responsible attitude while maintaining moderation as members of society. For example, we do not libel third parties, make misleading statements, or engage in words and deeds which are contrary to public order and morals. If we post incorrect information or misleading expressions, we promptly apologize and correct that information.
  3. Thorough Legal Compliance and Management of Confidential Information
    We comply with various laws, and the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group’s Human Rights Policy, Code of Conduct and internal rules. At the same time, we thoroughly manage information relating to , the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group, customers, business partners and other parties that we learn in the course of our work. We do not post information on customers, business partners and other parties without their consent.
  4. Thorough Protection of Personal Information and Consideration for Privacy
    We thoroughly protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy. We strictly refrain from posting information which violates the privacy of individuals.
  5. Respect for Intellectual Property Rights and Other Rights
    We respect the copyrights and other intellectual property rights, image rights and other rights of third parties. We do not infringe on those rights. We post photographs, videos and articles in which individuals are identified only upon obtaining the consent of the individuals in question. When quoting statements, articles and otherwise of third parties, we clearly indicate the source and quoted parts.
  6. Respect for Honor
    We respect the honor of specific individuals, corporations, and countries and regions. At the same time, we do not engage in words and deeds which defame their honor or damage their reputation.
  7. Compliance with the Terms of Use of the Various Social Media Operating Companies
    We comply with the terms of use of the various social media operating companies. We respect the culture and etiquette fostered on the various social media platforms.

4.Acts Prohibited When Using the Official Accounts

The Nippon Manufacturing Service Group prohibits the following acts when using the official accounts. If any of the following applies, the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group may take measures such as deleting posts, blocking accounts and unfollowing accounts.

  • Posting of information about a specific individual without the consent of the individual in question
  • Acts which damage the honor or libel a specific individual (including Employees etc.), corporations, and countries and regions
  • Acts which infringe upon the copyrights and other intellectual property rights, privacy rights, image rights and other rights of the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group and third parties
  • Posting of the confidential information (technical, sales and other business information) of the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group, its customers and business partners
  • Acts which are contrary to public order and morals, and acts which violates laws, ordinances and other regulations
  • Political activities, electioneering activities, religious activities or similar activities
  • Impersonation of third parties including the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group
  • Acts for profit such as advertising and publicity
  • Acts which violate the terms of use established by the various social media operating companies
  • Other acts deemed by the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group to be malicious or inappropriate

5.Disclaimers

  • The information posted on the official accounts and the information posted by Employees etc. on social media do not necessarily represent the official announcements or views of the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group. Please see the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group’s website, news releases and similar for the Group’s official announcements.
  • The Nippon Manufacturing Service Group does not guarantee that the information posted on the official accounts is accurate, up-to-date or useful. The Nippon Manufacturing Service Group assumes absolutely no responsibility for any disadvantages or damages arising from the information posted.
  • Users should resolve damages, troubles and disputes between themselves arising from the use of the official accounts at their own responsibility and expense. the Nippon Manufacturing Service Group assumes absolutely no responsibility.
